MEWFEST777: Winter 2007

Your Invite to Celebrate a Birthday at Bar Beach, Newcastle

Mewfest777: Winter 2007

So, I never actually had a celebration of my first twenty-one years on this earth, so I thought why not celebrate my 25th. So, you're all invited to join me up in Newcastle on the 7th of the 7th '07 for a few beverages and food.

To ensure that you know how to get here (and what you?ll need) I?m providing a bit of a guide.

The barbeque should kick off around 4pm at mine, or atleast the beers will. After that, we'll see how things go. If you're early you'll be put to good use (but will of course get first dibs on the food).

Pasher Bulker at Nobby's Beach, Newcastle - Near to location for Mewfest777: Winter 2007

For those who haven't dropped in to visit, haven't heard of the Pasha Bulker, or weren't here for Mewfest: Easter 2007, you'll probably need to know where I live. I'm at:

Unit 6 - 285-289 Darby St,
Bar Beach NSW 2300

While we have a landline, just give me a buzz on the mobile if you need to get in contact with me (0401 501 625).

Directions from Sydney

  1. Head up the highway;
  2. Turn off at the Newcastle and Wallsend exit off the highway;
  3. Follow road all the way into Newcastle and past the Town Hall;
  4. Turn right onto Darby Street at traffic lights near O'Finnigans;
  5. Turn right at the roundabout at Parkway Avenue (I'm on the corner of the two, on the south-east side).

What Am I Bringing?

James Squire, Golden Ale

I suggest you bring your favourite drop to make a good night. Mine at this time is the Golden Ale from James Squire.

Yourself, your beverages (although there's some VB I'm hoping to offload to mates from last time they were up), possibly some eskies and ice (depending on when you get here and if you've got any) - main reason for them is a lack of fridge space. It does get cold up here in winter, but not quite cold enough to make your beer drinking temperature cold.

Anyone with special dietary requirements should understand that I'm currently planning on getting a heap of sausages for the barbeque, bread (of course), salad and hopefully a massive risotto and some baked 'taters (so a nod as to if you're going to be able to make it would be nice :) ).

Are We Heading Out After?

Silly question when the locals about a few hundred metres down the road and the party will most probably have a few engineers around.

Not much has really changed since the last time my mates were up except that I've shot a few more gigs around here and Sydney, so I still don't know the best late night locations. On the upside, the locals engineers who should be coming should be able to assist with this (guys and girls - anywhere you recommend?).

The Vasco Era, The Northern Star Hotel

Good live music is always available, though whether you'll be able to hear it by the time we leave is another thing. Saw The Vasco Era at The Northern Star Hotel a few weeks back where I was shooting for I'm With The Band.
